Enron Subsidiary to Sell Excess Real Estate at Absolute Auction

Lakeland, FL. (PRWEB) October 14, 2007 -- Higgenbotham Auctioneers International (HAI) announced today that their firm has been retained by Enron Wind Systems, LLC. to offer at absolute auction 760 +/- acres of development land in Tehachapi, California. The auction will be held at 1PM (PDT) on Thursday, November 1st at the West Park Activity Center. The center is located at 410 West D St. Tehachapi, CA.

The 760 +/- acre tract will be sold in 10 parcels to the last and highest bidder with no reserve. Parcels will range in size between 4.77± and 501.28± acres.

According to Jim Owen, HAI Director of Western Real Estate, representatives of Enron Creditors Recovery Corporation asked the firm to organize an auction for the Tehachapi acreage, he stated, "The management of Enron is enthusiastic about the auction marketing process and chose the absolute auction as being the most viable solution to liquidate the property quickly and efficiently."

Public documents show that Enron was at one time the owner of nearly 4,600 wind turbines in the Tehachapi region.

The Tehachapi area is well known for its environmentally friendly electric generating wind turbines, its proximity to Edwards Air Force Base, and its excellent environment for gliding.
