San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) October 28, 2007 -- This November, top art school (http://www.academyart.edu/ep/top-art-school.html) Academy of Art University hosts the most highly anticipated emerging art charity event of the year: the 12th Annual Faculty & Alumni Fine Art Auction. In partnership with Bonhams & Butterfields, the Academy offers guests an exceptional opportunity to support emerging art students by bidding on works by some of the finest internationally collected Bay Area artists.

Many of the featured Academy Faculty and Alumni, including Jo Babcock, Brian Blood, Margaret Keelan, Carolyn Meyer, Kevin Moore, Will Mosgrove, Craig Nelson, Peter Schifrin, and James B. Wood have representation at esteemed galleries nationwide and have earned coveted accolades in their respective fields. Auction attendees are able to begin or add to a collection of masterful contemporary artistry while giving generously to the Academy of Art University's art scholarship fund. In 2006 alone, the Fine Art Auction raised an impressive sum of more than $120,000. With over seventy Faculty and Alumni Artists participating across the disciplines of Painting, Jewelry, Photography, and Sculpture, both the Live and Silent Auctions will provide a magnificent spectrum of technique, medium, and mood.

The 12th Annual Faculty & Alumni Fine Art Auction begins on Tuesday, November 13, 2007 with the opening of the Preview and Silent Auction. The Academy welcomes art collectors and enthusiasts, and members of the media to a Preview Party on Wednesday, November 14, 2007 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. The Live Auction and a Reception will take place on Saturday, November 17, 2007, beginning at 3:00 p.m. The Silent Auction concludes approximately 30 minutes after the Live Auction. All events are hosted by the non-profit galleries of the Academy of Art University and take place at 79 Gallery, 79 New Montgomery Street, San Francisco, CA 94105. Fifty percent of the proceeds are donated directly to the Student Scholarship Fund and are tax deductible. Fifty percent of the proceeds are dispersed directly to the artist.
