Jeff Gordon's Hottest Firesuit Heats Up Online Charity Auction

Grandview, MO (PRWeb) December 11, 2006 -- Four-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Jeff Gordon has given up one of his favorite firesuits from the 2006 NASCAR Nextel Cup season, for an online auction benefiting The Jeff Gordon Foundation. At press time, the DuPont Hot Hues firesuit had a high bid in excess of $6,000, with almost a week left before the auction closes.

As part of a high-profile promotion with Gordon's primary sponsor DuPont, he wore this particular firesuit and drove a specially painted #24 DuPont Hot Hues Monte Carlo in the Auto Club 500 at California and the Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The Hot Hues paint scheme was designed by revered car-customizer Chip Foose, and was by far the most popular special paint scheme with fans and collectors that Gordon ran all year. It was a personal favorite of Gordon's as well, so it's no coincidence that he ran this scheme in California and Indy, both places where he grew up and is considered a "hometown favorite."
